A highly collectable and increasingly rare watch, the Zodiac Aerospace GMT was a very popular pilot's and navigator's watch throughout the Vietnam war period. It was found that not only did it keep great accuracy, it was also very robust and stood up against the tough environments of war.
This particular watch is a very early example and one of the more desirable pieces in the Aerospace GMT lineage. It is in excellent condition for its age but does show a small amount of wear. The case is in good shape but has some small age related dings, it was lightly polished during service but care was taken not to alter the sharpness of the case edges. The outer rotating bezel unfortunately no longer clicks but has been fitted with a new gasket- it now turns smoothly and is nice and tight. The outer bezel is plated and the plating is showing signs of wearing through to the outer edge. The crystal is the original and was lightly polished during service so is now really clear. The watch is automatic winding but also has manual wind and hacking.
The watch is small but has an incredible amount of charm and history! One not to be missed.
