A great example of this 1970s classic, the 6138-0049 is an iconic piece in Seiko's history. The buttons are situated at the top of the case that mimics a bull's horns hence the nickname.

This model is the 6138-0049 which was designated for the American market. According to certain sources this is a more desirable model to collectors.

The watch is in great condition for its age. It was recently serviced in October 2017 and since then it has been a reliable runner. All functions operate as they should apart from the quick set date, the chronograph runs and resets to 0 and the buttons do not stick. The quick set date unfortunately doesn't work and a repair was attempted, but no NOS parts could be sourced. The date can be changed by advancing the time forwards as it still changes over when the time hits midnight. The quick set day works perfectly. The watch case was lightly refinished during the service, but was done so as to preserve the original case lines.

The watch has great wrist presence and 1970s styling and is a fantastic addition to any collection!
