Functions: All functions (dual display, chronograph, alarm, light etc) operate correctly.
Case Condition: Original, excellent, small marks commensurate of age. Original plastic shroud in great condition.
Crystal Condition: Original crystal, a couple of microscopic marks (only visible under bright light and strong loupe)
Dial/hands: Original, mint.
Rotating bezel: Original bezel insert, near mint. Bezels rotates smoothly with a nice tight click.
Bracelet/Strap: Original Seiko GL831 rubber strap. Very good condition, nice and supple. Marks on the lug ends where the shroud has dug in.
Notes: New battery and gaskets (case back, bezel, crown and pushers) fitted December 2018.
A rare opportunity to acquire one of the most iconic movie watches ever, in all original condition! This is the same model to feature in no less than 5 of Arnold Schwarzenegger's films, including 'Commando' (1985) & 'Predator' (1987). The H558-5000 was worn by Schwarzenegger, and is now commonly referred to as the 'Arnie' because of the on screen wrist time. Not only was this an Arnie watch, the model was also worn briefly by James Bond (Roger Moore) in the 1985 film 'For Your Eyes Only'. The Seiko H558-5000/9 was a world first for Seiko, being the first ever 150m hybrid diver with alarm and chronograph functions.
This particular example is in excellent condition with little signs of use. The watch retains all of its original parts (including the rare original shroud) and has just benefited from a full case strip down, clean, a new battery and new gaskets fitted all round. All functions operate as they should and is ready to slot straight in to your collection.
A definite must for collectors of vintage Seiko, Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Bond and movie watches!
